Our Services

We offer individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults of all ages.

Individual Therapy for Children, Adolescents and Adults

In our individual clinical therapy sessions we work with a strength-based approach which allows the client to realize their own inherent abilities and capitalize on them. With this collaborative approach and common goal setting, clients are able to feel supported in their decisions and gain ease in facing life’s challenges.

Family Therapy

The goal of family therapy is to help family members improve communication, solve family problems, understand and handle special family situations and create a better functioning home environment. For children and adolescents, family therapy can be helpful when there are significant changes to the family structure for example a blending family or a recent death. Family therapy can collectively offer the family a safe place to work together, develop coping skills as a group and identify the family’s strengths.

Play Therapy

Play Therapy at the Coastal Center uses a variety of play and creative arts techniques to help a young child who might be experiencing behavioral and/or emotional difficulties. These play techniques help a child to express what might be distressing and allows the parent and the clinician insight as to how best to help the child adapt and use his/her inherent strengths to soothe and cope. Strategies and techniques for parenting can be integrated for the parent and child with the information gleaned through the play therapy sessions.

Consider adding Juice Plus to your diet! We are supposed to eat 9-13 servings of a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables every day. We simply can’t, don’t or won’t so we need to fill our nutritional gap!

Miller Method Therapy

We offer individualized cognitive developmental therapy for children with behavioral, communication or sensory difficulties from toddler age through elementary school. Sessions address children’s communicative, behavioral, and social/emotional needs and are generally conducted 1-2 times per week. The Miller Method’s goal is to transform a child’s aberrant systems into functional and interactive behaviors by expanding on the child’s interests and abilities. Parents are an important part of the therapy and work closely with the therapist to create an exciting, unique program for their child.
